AFTER reading the letter in the Guardian from Cllr Sally Buckley "Cllr puts us all straight on toilets", obviously she hasn't visited the council public toilets in the bus station in Selborne Walk, Walthamstow.
They are closed more times than they are open and, when they are open, they are generally unfit to use because of the uncleanliness.
I spoke to the information officer in the bus station. He informed me that the men's toilet is often closed (which it was on December 8) and his great concern was that men, sober and drunk, were using the womens toilet as there was nowhere else to go.
How can Cllr Sally Buckley have the audacity to say Leyton is the only town centre in the borough without adequate toilet provision?
I have been complaining bitterly over the last ten years about the inadequacy of toilet facilities in the Selborne Walk town centre.
So, please Cllr Buckley, get your facts right if you want to do something for the residents who use the town centre and the tourists we are trying to attract. Provide the area with a proper facility that will have an attendant and all the proper facilities that go with a modern toilet.
