New Carshalton Athletic manager Graham Roberts was denied a victory in his first match in charge of the Robins by a goal in the last two minutes.
There were few chances in the first half although Carshalton had a 12th minute goal ruled out for offside.
Paul Ferguson had the best chance of the first half when he miskicked in front of goal. Mark Hynes then lobbed the keeper from 25 yards but the ball dipped too late and went just over.
Carshalton continued to dominate in the second half and Wade Falana chipped the ball just wide after being set up by Keith Ward. After 83 minutes when they broke the deadlock. Scott Kinch played the ball into the penalty area and although the keeper saved, Neil Robson found the net from 10 yards. Oxford equalised two minutes from time through Jordan Holder.
Carshalton's Boxing Day match with Walton & Hersham will kick off at 1pm.
