Sarah-Louise Casey was presented with a special prize when she attended the London Borough of Bromley 2001 Excellence in Sport Awards presentation, held at the Pavilion Leisure Centre.
The awards was in recognition of young sporting personalities who have achieved success in a wide range of sports within the borough.
Sarah-Louise, who lives in Erith and is member of the Sharks Swimming Club, qualified for her prize because she is also a member of the Millennium Swmming Squad, which is based in Chislehurst under the
expert coacing of Jenny Cooper.
Sarah-Louise was given her award for her achievements in excellence when she came tops in the National Championships England squad for people with learning disabilities.
She received a grant and shield as the most deserving candidate among the 18 nominations.
