TWO Bromley ambulancemen were among the first in the country to gain degrees in emergency medicine.
Brian Craggs, 46, and Keith Millar, 43, who are based at the Crown Lane station, have both been with the service for 26 years.
The pair were among the first group of students to study for England's first paramedic science degree at the University of Hertfordshire.
They have now been promoted to training officer posts to pass on new life-saving skills to new recruits.
LAS chief executive Peter Bradley said: "Having this extra knowledge can only improve the care given to local residents and provide career progression."
