HEARTBEAT awards which recognise a high standard of healthy attitudes and cleanliness have been presented to the Loch Fyne Restaurant and Cafe Hart in Loughton High Road.
Health chiefs assess meals on offer and consider if they provide a sufficiently healthy choice that meets the recommended dietary requirements.
Epping Forest Council's environmental health department assessed the premises and food handling to ensure it meets the statutory requirements.
Premises receiving the award often apply best practice that is beyond the legal requirements, the council said.
The awards were presented by Epping Forest Council chairman John Gilliham.
The award is a joint initiative between the district council and Epping Forest Primary Care Trust.
