FANS of Charlton Athletic may soon be able to watch their heroes play more vital away games, if an application to erect a big screen at the club's home ground is given approval.
The Addicks have applied for permission to erect a big screen at the south east corner of the ground to broadcast 12 away games from the Premiership and the cup every season for the next two years.
If permission is granted, then fans will not have to travel to all the team's away games.
A lucky 4,800 will be able to see the matches broadcast live at the club's Valley ground, in Floyd Road.
The application will be effective immediately if Greenwich Council's planning board approve the scheme at a meeting tomorrow (Thursday).
Supporters will be able to watch six games in the course of this season and 12 games a season for the next two years.
The application will also allow fans of rugby league side, the London Broncos, to watch away matches featuring their team in the Superleague competition if the club renews its lease at the Valley beyond this year.
