Pupils in years three and four of Old Palace School performed their musical The Late Wise Man on December 4 and 5.
The play directed by drama teacher Annette Palmer, opens at the palace of the king of Persia, played by eight-year-old Amy Liu, who is waiting to send off the four wise men to deliver gifts to the new born king.
Three wise men arrive promptly and are despatched to Bethlehem, however Artaban, the fourth wise man, played by eight-year-old Swarnadipa Banerjee, arrives late tries to catch up with the others.
In the final scene, the three wise men are seen delivering gifts to baby Jesus but by the time Artaban arrives the holy family have fled to Egypt to escape kign Herod's edict to kill all infants born that night.
Old Palace infants impressed the audience with their singing, dancing and lavish costumes in their nativity play performed on December 5-7.
In the play, a genie takes the children around the world on a magic carpet before bringing them to Bethlehem.
