The speaker at our July meeting was Mr Bob Ogley, the subject being "Spirit of Invicta" An interesting talk abut the history of the banding of Invicta - the badge of Kent.
We have had some very pleasant events this month including trips to the Kent Show, a garden party at Longfield which unfortunately was not in the garden - due to heavy rain, but none the less was a lovely afternoon. A craft show and a very good cookery demonstration. Some really lovely dishes of simple mouth-watering recipes and of course a light-hearted afternoon of darts.
Now please note we are holding our Annual Craft and Produce Show on Wednesday August 15 at 2pm. Visitors are very welcome to come along and browse and maybe have a cup of tea and a chat. We would love to have your support. Coffee mornings are as usual on the last Thursday of each month at 10-11am with refreshments and various stalls.
We have a little break for August so the next meeting will be on Wednesday September 12 at 2pm when Mr Puddifoot will be talking and showing "Winter Hanging Baskets". All events are at the Community Centre, Alexander Road, Greenhithe. We look forward to meeting some new faces.
