England and Surrey cricketer Alec Stewart and leading family law QC Philip Moor were guest speakers at a reception held by TWM Solicitors recently.
The firm, which has offices in Epsom, Leatherhead, Wimbledon, Guildford and Cranleigh, hosted the event to welcome the experienced matrimonial team of Karin Walker and Demelza Nicholas.
Charmaine Hast, head of the family law department of TWM Solicitors, based at the Epsom office, greeted the two guest speakers.
The audience was treated to entertaining anecdotes from the two very different worlds of international cricket and the courts of law. Senior partner of TWM Solicitors, Howard House said: "We offer sincere thanks to Alec Stewart for having chosen to attend this gathering, rather than take part in the current test tour of India."
Philip Moor finished his talk by confirming that TWM Solicitors had every right to be proud of their two new lawyers, saying their arrival turns "what was already a strong matrimonial team into one of the very best."
