In reply to Bodipala Wijeyesingh's letter of November 29, Labour has provided a valuable contribution.
Clearly, this avid letter writer does not realise that the five Labour councillors, including their leader Charlie Mansell, has supported the Liberal Democrat council on a number of contentious issues. The Labour party supported the bi-weekly collection of brown and green bins.
It was the threat of health hazards which led Sutton Council's Conservative group and thousands of local residents to force both parties to revert to weekly collections.
The race track along Middleton Road is due to youths running amok with stolen cars and scooters, annoying residents who protested in vain to their local Labour Councillor John Morgan. He in turn put leaflets through letter boxes saying don't blame Labour as we are neither the governing party or official opposition'.
So what's the point of electing Labour councillors? One Labour councillor has moved outside the borough. Truly a reflection of representing the local interests.
Finally, there is no such thing as a free St Helier Hospital every taxpayer knows they are paying for a worse service despite vast sums of money being poured into a monolithic NHS bureaucracy, created by Labour politicians.
May I suggest Bodipala re-adjusts the politically correct glasses, as one sees more from the valley, and only small things from the peak.
