Village proud
As vicar of the parish of St Mary Cray, I was saddened and puzzled by the mention in your front page story, December 12, that Kathleen Baker is "a Chelsfield teenager." She is reported to be resident in Derry Downs which is a road in St Mary Cray. Chelsfield is some two miles south of her residence! What's wrong with St Mary Cray? We are proud to be residents of this ancient village. We claim Kathleen Baker as one of the community of St Mary Cray and a member of the parish of St Mary Cray.

Good service
We always hear the bad reports of the NHS, including Bromley Hospital, and recently I have had two appointments with the respiratory nurse at the chest clinic. Both times, I was seen by the nurse in charge exactly on time. On both occasions, the treatment I received was carried out efficiently and with kindness. I think it is only right you can equal publicity given to the good side of the health service as that so readily given to the bad.

Seeking sister
I am very anxious to contact my sister who I've lost contact with. She moved to Penzance in Cornwall a few years ago from Orpington, Kent, but, alas, is not there now. I must assume, therefore, she has moved back to her children who were living in the Orpington and Sevenoaks area. Her name is Angela Maureen Jenkins and I am Anthony George Goodbourn (her brother). I await to her from her soon.

Police duties
We read a lot about our police being used in London on anti-terrorist duties but what exactly are they doing? Are they forming a shoulder-to-shoulder ring of blue round Mr Blair? Perhaps they are really guarding Byers from the irate rail workers or Prescott from indignant rural assailants. I expect that lovely Howlett man will tell us!
