WEST HAM winger Trevor Sinclair hopes the Hammers can maintain the form shown against Manchester United and Arsenal over the all important Christmas period.o
The Upton Park club face Leicester, Derby, Liverpool and Leeds before they travel down to Macclesfield for the potentially tricky FA Cup clash on January 6.o
"We have been playing well lately and dominating the majority of our opponents, but at times we haven't been turning that into results," said the England international.
"At Sunderland we probably deserved to win and yet we were disappointed not to get anything out of that game.
"The players and management know that we could have had at least six more points at this stage and that would have put us right up in the top half of the table, but that shows you the thin line there is between success and failiure.
"We know that we have got to turn some of our draws and narrow defeats into to wins and I think we can climb up the table rapidly.
"And while Christmas is only one month, there are a lot of games over that period so obviously it is important that we pick up as many points as possible."
Manger Glen Roeder is also keen that his side continue the unbeaten momentum right through possibly one of the hardest months for the club.
He said: "It is a very tight Premier League this year and it is about us coming through this difficult month no worse off than were we are now in the table.
"By the time we play Leeds we would have come up against what you would consider some of hardest fixtures and if we are still sitting six or seven points off the bottom three I think we would have had a decent December.
"When I looked at this month at the beginning of the season it appeared to be the most difficult, especially with three games over Christmas and the new year that are just ten days apart.
"Somehow you are suppose to keep a clean bill of health and I can't afford to lose three or four players at the same time as I don't have the facility to rotate my team."
This could prove very difficult as Roeder's squad has been ravaged by injuries during most of the season and he admits there are no further funds available.
He said: "There is no cash available now, so we have got to get on with what we have got, although I am looking to bring in a couple of loan signings who can play in the first team, and not ones who will come in just to make the numbers up."
Roeder is also adamant that his side will also be preparing correctly for the FA Cup trip to Macclesfield, so as to avoid the potential banana skin that has seen the Hammers slip up at lower league clubs before.
He continued: "I am completely happy with the draw, and we will have them watched at least three times so that we know everything we need to about Macclesfield.
"It will also be about getting the boys' heads right in terms of the importance of the game. Then we will take our chance."
