PAUL BRUSH continued his recent spell of introducing Wimbledon reserves to Brisbane Road with the arrival this week of Samuel Okikiolu.
Brush is currently running the rule over the 19-year-old defender, who will join up with club mates Mikele Leigertwood and Wayne Gray.
He said: "Samuel played in a reserve match against Reading on Tuesday and he was probably our best player.
"We are allowed to have him for two games to have a look at him, although we don't have another reserve team game until January.
"Sam is a local lad and we knew a little bit about him because he played school boy football with John Martin.
"His situation is different to the other two Wimbledon lads, because he is on a short term contract and he is not sure about his future.
"So from my point of view I am just looking at him as an individual, with a view to whether he is good enough for us."
Brush was also keen to point out that the youngsters arrival has nothing to do with any so call connection between the two clubs and he continued: "Our reserves have played them twice recently in friendlies and Sam has marked Iyseden Christie well both times, so that is why we have looked at him.
"There is no particular connection and the fact that Wimbledon are a supposedly a small club yet have over 40 professionals, means that while we have got three of them, that isn't a lot."
The O's boss has also been boosted this week by Terry Burton's decision to let Leigertwood stay for another month, and he continued: "Mikele has fitted in well and so we are pleased that he is allowed to stay with us.
"He can however be recalled instantly because they have had a couple of injuries to defenders recently."
Brush is now keen that Orient get their Christmas campaign off to a good start against Lincoln on Saturday after last weeks slip up at Macclesfield.
He said: "I thought Lincoln were a neat passing side when they played here a couple of weeks ago in the cup and their two forwards Cameron and Thorpe were a handful, so we will have to be on our guard."
"It is important to get back to winning ways and the players want to get off to a good start to the Christmas period, because if we play well the season can dramatically change.
"With all those games so close together there isn't a lot of time to train or change anything, but if we are winning the games won't come quick enough for us."
