WELL it's nice to see Wanstead High Street with its Christmas lights.
What a shame the tree is not in the High Street say outside the Post Office or the Summerfields store, so it can be enjoyed by all the residents of area one, and maybe we could have carol singing under the tree in an evening or Saturday morning.
As for area one, well how about the planning?
We saw in the papers about the headmaster of Wanstead High School being there, but what about the planning issue in Sydney Road where the first plan was turned down as being too big, and a new plan submitted which was approved.
But when the extension was built, it was bigger than the plans approved, and the neighbour objected.
What did area one committee do with this retrospect planing application? Yes you got it, approve it.
Might as well have approved the first plan.
I think that once plans are put into the council, that should be it, and if they do not build according to the plans, the applicant should be made to alter it back to the plans submitted.
