A FUNERAL director is raising awareness about a charity helpline to help Gravesham residents struggling to cope with bereavement over Christmas.
Debra Herbert-Evers, from Gravesend Funeral Service in Milton Road, says she is advertising the Samaritans number because of the increasing number of people calling the funeral service for counselling.
She said: "Christmas is an emotionally difficult time for people coping with bereavement.
"Because we are getting more and more people calling us for counselling, we are now publicising the Samaritans number and handing out leaflets in the funeral service.
"We understand people need counselling but the best help they can get is from the Samaritans."
The Samaritans helpline number is 08457 90 90 90.
