GHOSTHUNTERS in Gravesend were treated to ghoulish stories, while celebrating the history of Kent's libraries.

Historian Chris Bull recited phantom fables at Gravesend Library and brought the legendary tale by MR James, The Tractate Midoth, to life with his story-telling.

Mr Bull then turned the lights down low for some "true" stories at the Evening of Ghostly Tales. The nervous crowd heard about the hauntings at Dartford Library and the old library in Northfleet.

"It was a hugely enjoyable and atmospheric evening and I was very pleased with how it went," said Mr Bull.

The evening marked the end of 80 years of celebrating Kent County Libraries.
