A elderly disabled lady was saved by a stranger after her ride failed to turn up in Woodside Park earlier this month.
Wheelchair-bound Sybil Kirk-Watts, from Briarfield Avenue, Finchley, was left stranded alone in Southover at 11pm on December 10 after her committee meeting at Woodside Park Country Club ended early and her cab failed to arrive.
Being hard of hearing, she had no mobile phone and was unsure what to do.
A man on his way home from Woodside Park station saw her and waited for a bus with her, helped her on she had both hands in splints after falling off a train accompanied her, changed buses with her at Finchley Central, before helping her off near her home.
Then he had to wait for two buses to get back home to Woodside Park. She never caught his name due to her hearing.
"I'm so grateful," said the bubbly 70-year-old. "I don't know what would have happened if he hadn't helped me."
