Nellie Brown celebrated her 102nd birthday last Friday with a huge surprise birthday party thrown by staff at the Bardwell Day Centre in Kingston.
A delighted Nellie was treated to a carol service performed by the children of St Johns Primary School where Nellie attended as a child, and a birthday lunch.
The Mayor of Kingston, Jeremy Thorn, made a speech acknowledging Nellies life that has spanned more than a century.
For the finale of the day, a thrilled Nellie was presented with a cake and friends and staff sung Happy Birthday.
