A COUPLE from Dartford say the secret to their 60-year marriage is "unconditional love".
Frank, 81, and 79-year-old Norma Paterson of Willow Road celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on December 13.
Former engineer Mr Paterson says they met in Erith in 1939 when his bicycle chain broke and he ended up talking to two girls sitting by the roadside one of whom was the future Mrs Paterson.
He said: We've lived in Dartford since 1944 and have one daughter and two grandsons.
"I think the secret of our long marriage must be being totally devoted to each other and staying together during the ups and downs."
