ONE is definitely smelling of roses at a Dartford estate with residents adding the finishing touches to their garden.
Residents on the Tree Estate planted 60 rosebushes at the Meadowside community garden, thanks to a £500 windfall from Barclays SiteSaver. Councillors Margaret and Victor Stock and Len Morely of Dart Homes also served out winter warmers of mulled wine and mince pies.
The garden was an overgrown disused area until being rejuvenated by Groundwork and residents earlier this year. Groundwork's Barbara Hardgreaves said: "It was an ideal time to give the garden a facelift and reward the hard work which went into creating the garden."
