The country's favourite newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald presented awards to staff at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disabilty in Putney recently.
Nursing staff who have completed their NVQ 3 were presented with certificates by the veteran newscaster.
The qualification allows staff to take on a higher level of responsibility at the hospital and also paves the way for them to take degree courses.
Hospital chief executive Peter Franklyn said: "We were delighted that Sir Trevor McDonald helped us to honour our staff members who have shown such dedication to the Royal Hospital through long service and commitment to professional achievement."
