Barnet were due to entertain Dagenham in the Nationwide Conference on Saturday, January 5, but the Essex club meet Premiership Ipswich in the FA Cup third round. Consequently, Barnet were left without a game.
So, too, were Cambridge United, and the LDV Vans Trophy southern section semi-final between the two clubs, originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, at Abbey Stadium, has been brought forward to fill the gap.
Barnet will be out to make Cambridge their fourth Second Division victims in the competition, following wins over Bournemouth, Northampton and Reading.
Their excellent 4-1 third round win over promotion-chasers Reading earned the Bees the Team of the Round trophy.
Cambridge, bottom of Division Two, achieved a shock 1-0 win over leaders Brighton in the third round.
The other southern semi-final is a Bristol derby between City and Rovers. In the northern semi-finals, Hull meet Huddersfield, and Oldham meet Blackpool.
The final is at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff, on Sunday, March 24.
