Since winning the BBC New Comedian Award at the 1996 Edinburgh festival there has been no stopping Marcus Brigstocke, who is coming to the Brixton Comedy Club this weekend.
His second solo show, Get A Life, which was based on the subject of therapy, gained lots of critical acclaim and served as a showcase for Marcus's acting and writing talents.
Brigstocke's thoroughly entertaining set is an amusing and smartly-observed rant through the British (and American) psyche.
Daytime TV and video games may not be the freshest of subjects but within this framework, Brigstocke finds original and humorous gags.
His confident delivery and ear for mimicking accents enhances the top-notch material and makes this act one of the highlights of the circuit.
Yet away from the comedy circuit Marcus is known to millions of TV fans as Adam, in the BBC sitcom The Savages which also starred Victoria Hamilton and Geoffrey Palmer.
Marcus is currently working on several writing projects including TV and radio shows based on the characters from his Edinburgh show: Giles, the Gap Year "twit", and Dr Greg Dupont, Marcus's self serving Canadian media psychotherapist character has been commissioned for a pilot script for BBC TV, "Get A Life".
Marcus Brigstocke is at the Brixton Comedy Club and for times and prices see the listings.
