British Lions star Keith Wood has signed a one-year extension to his contract which will keep him at The Stoop until June 2003, writes Nick Melton.
Wood is Ireland's most capped hooker of all time with 47, and has five British Lions caps.
Chief executive Mark Evans said: "There is no doubt Keith is a world class player so this is fantastic news for the club.
"He has been extremely loyal to Quins since he joined us.
"Apart from having tremendous footballing skills, Keith is also a great leader which makes him a vital member of our squad."
The 29-year-old hooker joined Quins in the summer of 1996 and made his debut in a 75-19 victory over Gloucester.
He made his 100th appearance for the club earlier this season in the Heineken Cup game against Castres.
He was club captain throughout his second season at the Stoop (1997/98) and also captained the side at the start of last season until David Wilson arrived from Australia.
