A WOMAN in her 20s was subjected to a serious sexual assault while waiting for a taxi near a Harlow pub.
The victim was in School Lane, near the Greyhound pub, on the evening of Thursday, December 20, when she was attacked.
The attacker was aged 30 to 40, with short, cropped dark hair and heavy, dark eyebrows. He was wearing a dark coloured fleece, t-shirt and trousers.
Detective Superintendent Peter Coltman, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a very, very frightening ordeal for the victim and it's extremely important that we identify the man responsible before he strikes again."
Anyone who was in the area between 7pm and 9pm and saw a woman standing on her own, or a man matching the description, should ring police on 01279 641212.
