YOUNGSTERS from Blackfen Gymnastics Club ened the year in great form by winning a host of medals at a variety of tournaments.
Luke Jobson, Ross Marshall and Robert Elston won silver medals in their age groups at the Men's National Development Plan Club level, held at the East London Gymnastics Centre.
They performed the men's six-piece, which includes floor, vault, rings, high bars, parallel bar and pommel.
At the men's National Development Plan Regional level, Daniel Baldwin won a bronze and Bradley Barrett finished fourth.
Both were selected for the regional squad and Daniel was due to compete in the National finals, in Birmingham. Unfortunately, Daniel was admitted to hospital for an emergency appendix operation.
At the floor and vault competition at Harrow, Jake Ruggins won a gold medal, Christopher Dougan and Bobby Masher both won bronze, while Christopher Burton finished fourth.
At the Regional Individual Apparatus Championships at Heathrow, Sammy Glendenning collected silver medals for vault and bars.
At the Club Division Individual Championships, also held at Heathrow, the following girls represented Blackfen: Division 5, Louise Moody; Division 3, Kirsty Dougan, Leanne Weighill; Division 2, Vicki Coombes and Katie Glendenning and in Division 1 Katie Wilsey.
In the Twin Piece Championship, another event held at Heathrow, Blackfen's members were also in action and represented in Division 3/4 juniors by Kirsty Dougan and Leanne Weighill; Division 1/2 juniors by Katie Glendenning and Jo Norris; Division 1/2 seniors Katie Wilsey and Vicki Coombes.
Coach Katy Barrett said: "We're pleased with the youngsters they were fantastic all year. They work so hard in the gym and it's great when it pays off
in the end.
"We have lots of talented youngsters like Laura Mepham, who reached the National finals as part of the London team, who will be even better this year.
