THE world's longest running pop group is on the road again. And fans have a chance to be part of the recording of their latest DVD. The Drifters have been performing for more than 50 years.
When their latest tour comes to Catford's Broadway Theatre, the band will be filming their live DVD during the show.
Their most recent album, The Definitive Drifters, has gone platinum in the UK, meaning more than 300,000 copies have been sold.
The Drifters are enduringly popular through hits such as Saturday Night At the Movies and Under The Boardwalk.
The band has been through many line-up changes and featured 57 different singers. Longest serving member was Johnny Moore who joined the Drifters in 1954 and was still singing with the band when he died in 1998.
Also joining the band for a period was legendary soul singer Ben E King.
The Drifters live at Broadway Theatre, Catford Broadway, October 2, 7.30pm, £14.50-£16.50, 020 8690 0002.
