A CONTEMPORARY exhibition by a diverse group of photographers is displayed in the atmospheric surroundings of historic Hall Place. The Mirage photography group have created a show called Beyond the Obvious.
It features individual displays by 10 photographers, each exploring their own personal themes.
The displays cover a range of subjects including wildlife, landscapes, urban scenes and people both portraits and candid pictures.
Exhibitor Jack Bates says the group is bonded by a passion for photography.
"We are very active," he says. "Our members lecture and judge in competitions."
Some work with digital cameras and some use film, producing traditional darkroom prints.
"It's an amicable debate between us," says Jack, a digital photographer whose speciality is nature and wildlife.
The exhibition's venue is a 16th-century Grade 1 Listed country house set in formal gardens on the banks of the River Cray. Hall Place houses Bexley Museum and also of interest is the Tudor great hall with minstrels gallery and a famous 18th-century chamber organ built by George England.
