COUNCILLORS have pledged to fight for regular updates for Roding Valley residents living in the flood danger zone.
Members of area committee one agreed last week that there was not enough information being given to householders living in and around Chigwell Road with regard to flooding and water quality in the neighbourhood.
Liberal Democrat Cllr Ian Bond said: "Flooding in the Roding Valley is a significant issue. These people have had their homes flooded and their possessions damaged.
"We did agree we would have reports at every stage giving updates but there have been so many different agencies dealing with the matter that they can never get to the bottom of who is dealing with what.
"However, I don't see why residents should lose out in terms of information."
The authorities currently dealing with the flooding issues are Redbridge Council, Thames Water and the Environment Agency.
Cllr Ian Banks agreed that residents should be regularly updated on investigations into drainage along Chigwell Road and water quality.
It was agreed officers would make further representations to the relevant authorities with regard to the issue.
