NORTH SHEEN Bowling club ladies' team produced a fine display to defeat Priory Park at home on Sunday.
The club's triple of Val Hornblow, Pat Brown, and Gladys Knight beat a triple skipped by Marjorie Bennett, while Val Coles, Marie Whiteland and Carol Paton also had a good result in an overall win.
In the men's Inter Club competition Danny Kimble beat the strongly fancied Bill Phillips. There were also wins for Johhnny Priest, Richard Cushen, Steve Rollisen, Ron Arbery, Brian Rammell, Vic Hornblow Jnr.,Fred Goddard, Kevin Knight, John Quartermain, Harry Williams, Ian Acus, David Reed and John Bird.
In the men's Surrey Pairs, it was apity that two North Sheen pairs were drawn against each other as Brian Rammell and Richard Cushen beat Budgie Sturton and Dickie Capon.
The North Sheen Club's Women's team (Marie Whiteland, Val Coles, Sue Quartermaine, Carol Paton) were unlucky to lose to a strong rink skipped by Isobel Kimber from Barnes Lonsdale in a Surrey league match.
In the club's ladies competitions there were wins for Lesley Mitchell, Joe Goddard, Peggy Goodall and Katie Capon.
North Sheen ladies beat Wimbledon Park on Saturday and Parsons Green on Sunday. But the men lost at Malden and at Parsons Green.
Vic Hornblow Jnr. and Tony Paton had a good win in the Richmond and Barnes pairs away at Cambridge Park.
