Children from five Merton primary schools have taken an early step on the ladder to entrepreneurial success by electing governments and leaders, writing job descriptions and drafting business plans.
The pupils, as young as nine, from Cranmer, Priory, Sacred Heart, Malmesbury and Morden Farm Schools have been gaining first hand experience in business during the summer term in the 12-week MicroSociety programme developed by registered charity Merton Education Business Partnership.
The programme, which has been in Merton schools for seven years, is inspired by a Californian version called Mini-Society.
