A NINTH floor flat in Deptford was severely damaged by fire on Friday.
The fire brigade received seven calls about the blaze, in Cornbury House, Evelyn Street, at 4.20pm.
Crews from Deptford, Greenwich and East Greenwich attended and used one hose reel to bring the fire under control by 5.06pm.
The flat was empty at the time but one woman from the seventh floor and one women and three children from the ninth floor were led to safety by fire crews.
They were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
The cause of the blaze is being looked into by the fire investigation unit.
