AFC Wimbledon held their player trials at Wimbledon Common Extensions on Saturday and loads of people from WISA and the Dons Trust were there to help things go smoothy.

Paul Tanner from the Wimbledon News was there to take a stack of photographs to capture the proceedings.

From the 230 players that took part, Terry Eames will be selecting a squad of players to represent AFC Wimbledon.

There are suggestions that more than 1,500 fans will attend their first game, next Wednesday's pre-season game at Sutton United.

The excitement around AFC Wimbledon is in stark contrast to the situation at "Milton Keynes FC".

Challenges

They are struggling with season ticket sales, and the fact that a scheduled friendly against Carshalton has been postponed suggests one or two challenges lie ahead for their organisation.

At least seven independent supporters associations around the country are supporting our boycott of the MK club's matches.

As each day passes, the boycott is gaining momentum and we are now waiting to hear from 50 supporters groups and trusts.

There is a team now of 120 people working with WISA on the boycott and other projects involving the campaign against The Franchise FC.

We have also sent an open letter to the Football League, FA, Premier League and media to outline our case against the decision on May 28. The full text of this letter can be found on the front page of the WISA website www.wisa.org.uk

Thousands of fans are expressing massive support for the boycott and condemning Mr Koppel and his consortium. To give you an idea of how the Gillingham fans have dealt with the situation, please read the article below, which is an extract of a story which appeared in the Medway Messenger.
