A TABBY cat which was stuck on a church roof in West Wickham for two days has been rescued by an RSPCA officer.
Sydney Higgs, 79, of Hawes Lane, spotted the ginger moggie on the top of the Methodist church roof on Sunday when he came back from holiday.
He said: "I was very concerned when I saw the cat on the spire and I was told the fire brigade and RSPCA couldn't do anything."
But he later discovered it is the RSPCA's procedure to wait between 24 and 48 hours to see if the cat comes down before sending out a rescue team.
An RSPCA spokesman said on Monday: "The cat will be rescued today by an animal collection officer."
If you see a cat stuck in a tree or on top of a building, call the RSPCA's helpline number on 0870 5555 999.
