EMPLOYEES at Lewisham Council celebrated hard work and achievement at their very own version of the Oscars.
The Lewisham Pride Awards ceremony was held at Blackheath Halls, in Lee Road.
Awards rewarded efforts in various categories including team performance to Honor Oak neighbourhood wardens and the customer service award which went to Pauline Pudney who helped give advice and support to residents affected by the Blackheath hole.
Deputy mayor Councillor Gavin Moore said: "These awards are a fantastic way of thanking staff for their hard work and commitment."
News Shopper Editor Andrew Parkes presented the communication award which went to the department of education and culture's Kevin Howarth who put together an innovative and successful campaign to tackle truancy.
Mr Parkes said: "It was a great evening in which hard work was rewarded with an event which reminded me more of the Oscars then any other awards evening I've attended."
