KENT County Council's drive to encourage recycling is paying dividends as figures show rates are up on last year.
Although the recycling rate at Dartford Heath fell by nine per cent, other sites in north Kent saw a rise.
At Pedham Place, in Swanley, more than 52 per cent of rubbish is now recycled with Pepperhill close behind.
Residents are being encouraged to recycle even more with sites staying open later and increasing in size.
KCC cabinet member Councillor Sarah Hohler said: "Residents have responded really well. I would urge them to keep up the good work for the Kent War on Waste."
