YOUNGSTERS and teachers from Greenwich's twin town in Ghana attended an international conference held in the borough.
The Greenwich International Young People's Conference on global citizenship, is the follow up event from the first held in the borough, in October 2000.
Eight students and two teachers joined 44 youngsters from secondary schools across the borough to tackle such issues as citizenship and democracy, as well as environmental issues. The group also visited the incinerator and recycling plant at the council's Birchmere depot.
The aim was to give pupils a practical understanding of global citizenship.
