Sir,-I was indeed interested to see the three letters in last week's issue regarding the Friends of Radnor Gardens music day, held on Sunday June 23rd.
With my wife and young sons, I attended and we all totally agree with the very favourable responses expressed in the letters.
We also visited the bowling green of the Strawberry Hill Bowling Club, which is situated within the gardens, the club having timed their own open day to coincide with the Friends' Music Day.
The club had set up their green to allow visitors to come and try their hand' at the game of bowls, with plenty of club members on hand to give support and helpful advice and also provided the necessary bowls and shoes where required.
I and one of my sons took advantage of this opportunity and we found our brief initial attempts and practise a most enjoyable experience.
In conversation with the members, I learned that the club has been located within the gardens since its foundation in 1920 with a very successful playing record over the years, but in common with many bowls clubs, there is an urgent need for new members.
I and my family hope they are successful in their quest.-Matt Scott, Murray Avenue, Hounslow.
