MEMBERS of Gravesend Sea Cadets played an important part in a royal visit.
They joined 175 other cadets from army, air and sea cadet organisations when the Queen visited all sections of the armed forces in Portsmouth.
After going through training with Royal Navy drill instructors, at Browndown camp, in Gosport, they lined the route of the Queen's visit to HMS Excellent.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Dick Thackery said: "The cadets took part in a special, historic event. As usual, they rose to the occasion and impressed everyone who saw them."
Anyone interested in joining Gravesend Sea Cadets should call Lt Thackery on 07976 922169.
