A MINICAB driver has appeared in court, after a fight at a Thamesmead club left a man in a critical condition.
Gary Clark, aged 43, of Whinyates Road, Eltham, appeared at Woolwich Magistrates' Court on July 1 charged with grievous bodily harm.
He is accused of attacking Lee Smithies at the Moorings Club, in Arnott Close, on June 29.
Mr Smithies, from Thamesmead, was taken to a south London hospital, where he was said to be in a critical condition.
Clark has been remanded in custody for a preliminary hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on July 16.
The incident is being investigated by Serious Crime Group (South) under Detective Inspector Colin Dell.
