JUST who is entitled to two-tone horns and flashing lights?

On Thursday June 27 at Gants Hill roundabout at 2.10pm, a saloon car with a flashing light and two tone-horns squeezed through the eastward flowing traffic on Eastern Avenue. About 18 minutes later a second saloon car followed. Both vehicles had an indifferent appearance.

Are they entitled to this facility? Are these people trained to emergency driving standards? Who are they?

I had seen these (or similar) vehicles before but never managed to get the numbers before.

I note too that a small London Ambulance training division van and a fire investigation team use the emergency warnings. Is this not exaggerating their operational requirement?

Traffic in this country normally responds well to emergency response vehicles, but the granting of emergency warning systems could affect that co-operation if it is discovered we are making way for a couple of fly-boys who are late for dinner.

Just who is entitled?
