A COLLECTION is being held outside Epping's Tesco store tomorrow by the Epping Forest branch of the Alzheimer's Society, as part of its events for Alzheimer's Awareness Week.
All proceeds will go towards providing local services for local people.
On Sunday, the branch will have a stall at the town council's Epping Jubilee family fun day at the Stonards Hill recreation ground.
The theme of the week is Feeling the Pulse which aims to focus on the importance of early diagnosis of dementia in order to access treatment and services, including the key role played by GPs.
More than 1,700 people living in the Epping Forest district have dementia with the nationwide figure put at more than 700,000.
