Following reconstruction work in London Road, Mitcham, between Mitcham Station and the Cricket Green, myself and many other local residents and businessmen have become apprehensive about the safety of pedestrians seeking to cross this busy A road without the assistance of pedestrian crossings or a central reservation.
I have written to the London Borough of Merton on four occasions since April 10, seeking dialogue, but I have received neither acknowledgement nor reply. Following several telephone calls to the traffic department I have received one vague reply.
The handbook We don't always get it right, prepared by the borough, promises a reply within 15 working days.
