On the night of Tuesday, June 18, in the middle of the night, I had a large green tub stolen from outside my front door.

The fern in it, which took me a lot of time and care to grow, was very big and much admired and was a present from a family member.

I hope the person (or people) who did this are proud of what they have done, stealing from pensioners. Can't they afford to buy their own plants?

In view of this I have removed my hanging baskets from outside my front door in case the mean, despicable people decide to return for a second helping. I get a lot of pleasure growing my plants but the pleasure is taken away when people like this take what doesn't belong to them.

If these mean people have any conscience at all (which I doubt) spare a thought for the upset they have caused and I hope the fern which they stole dies.
