HARLOW-based triathlete Katherine Foy was in fine form to pull off a superb fourth place for her Essex Beagles Athletics Club at the Newcastle National Triathlon Championships on Saturday.
The 11-year-old, who was up against 40 other competitors, clocked an overall time of 24min 41sec, which comprised of a 200m swim, (3min 1sec) 4,000m bike ride (14min 31sec) and 1,800m run (7min 9sec).
The following day fellow Beagles Jackie Socas, 17, and Ravenna Brown, 18, were in Bristol for a UK League match, where their team secured another win that now looks certain to grant them promotion for the second year running.
Socas took second spot in her 1,500m event with a time of 4min 55sec plus a record 62 sec for the last leg of the 4x400m relay.
Brown also scored well claiming fourth position in her 5,000m race in a time of 21min 1sec.
