BISHOP'S Stortford's fight for survival continued with a draw against Hertford at Cricketfield Lane on Saturday.
Stortford who have been rooted to the foot of the table for most of the season picked up 14 valuable points after good batting displays from Adrian Wacey (83-n/o) and Will Burnell, 40 saw the home side reach a respectable 189-9 after they opened the batting.
Despite some great bowling from Nick Dever (4-40) the hosts were unable to take the last Hertford wicket that would have secured a valuable victory, as the visitors held on for the draw by finishing up on 143-9.
Stortford skipper Ben Debenham said: "We were a little deflated after the game because while we picked up 14 valuable points if we had managed to take just one more wicket to secure the win.
"There is however a lot to remain optimistic about after we played very well against a side who are one of the better teams in our league.
"So if we can continue to perform like this in the coming weeks I am sure we have a chance winning some games, which will give us a realistic chance of avoiding relegation." BISHOP'S Stortford's fight for survival gained momentum with a draw against Hertford at Cricketfield Lane on Saturday.
