There are many bands that play at private functions, either as an absorbing hobby or as full time entertainers.
Weddings, bar mitzvahs and funerals, is the saying for this type of work, but one local band can add to their list of occasions we also play for royalty'.
Professional band, Tuxedo Class, pictured above, were the jazz quartet chosen to provide the light jazz, background music during Her Majesty The Queen's luncheon at Addington Palace on July 4.
Band leader Peter Coulcher, who plays the drums, said after the event: "We were thrilled with this opportunity, and were a little nervous before the lunch started. After that we relaxed and played our best. Our play list included popular music and jazz. The royal couple seemed to enjoy it, and it was a special date for us. Of course we ended with God Save The Queen!"
Other band meners are: Dave Lewis on sax, John Cooper on piano and Brad Lang on bass.
So if you want to add a touch of class to your next celebration ask for Tuxedo Class. Call Peter on:020 8777 8535.
