The Gospel musical Oh Happy Days: Backslider Part II runs at Fairfield from July 19 to July 21, with performances at 8pm each evening.
This is Devon Morgan's sequel to his Backslider, and features top recording artist Maizie Williams from Boney M, leading a talented cast of popular singers including Tony Walters and Lovena Brown.
Filled with comedy and drama, it follows the lives of a newly married Christian couple and the problems they face while trying to keep the faith. It deals with the pressures of marriage, ante natal depression, temptation and the conflicts of today's world. It also focuses on the constant battles of a wayward daughter of the local pastor and his wife. The daughter is played by Yvette Rochester-Duncan.
Oh Happy Days is a rich blend of humour and seriousness faced by many who have a religious belief.
The plot thickens to stirring Gospel music directed by Colin Anderson. It's a musical for the whole family. Tickets are £18.50 and £15. Call 020 8688 9291.
