I COULD not help the feeling of deja vu I got when reading the Independent on June 19.
There was an article on mass job losses in Enfield and another on council staff going on strike which closed nine schools, disrupted after-school clubs, shut libraries and brought a halt to some services at the Carterhatch recycling depot.
There was another article regarding lecturers preparing to strike over pay and a letter from a Mr Harding of Ponders End regarding broken pre-election promises.
Although I am not a member of a political party I can't help remembering the same things happening the last time the Conservatives were in control of the council.
