MANY local people have objected to Bar Me's choice of colours for its exterior. I find this reactionary attitude disappointing.

Enfield should not just be looking backwards to its past but also forwards to the future.

It is a vibrant, up and coming suburb of London and, as such, should welcome new and challenging ideas. Where better to start than in the very fabric of the town?

An artist should not be afraid to be shocking. Like the Modernists, we should fearlessly depart from tradition and embrace the use of innovative forms of expression.

Gladbeck Way,
